God of the Comeback

For the sake of addressing the doubt we will acknowledge that for the most part we got ourselves into this mess. Like Samson who knew he could not trust Delilah but still told her his covenant secret. We have in many cases behaved foolishly by doing things we knew would result in trouble, but hoping at the same time it would produce a different outcome.

For example purchasing a home that was barely affordable with the job, and now that the job is gone the inevitable has occurred. Or being unequally yoked in relationship and enduring the toxic odor of stagnation due to a complete lack of growth and only producing loneliness. Or how about having made mistakes that resulted in a seemingly endless detour from our dreams and visions and now being stuck in the rut of a mere day to day existence unable to find the way to get back on course.

Then there are those of us who have been blindsided by trouble like Job. Out of nowhere we were nominated as a faithful heart who would serve God no matter what and so the enemy was released to prove our faith. Meanwhile, test and trials have been coming one after the other and it feels as if defeat is lurking and the end is near. Yet the heart still says, “Though He slay me yet will I serve Him”. (Job 13:15)

I have good news. By the Holy Spirit I say rejoice! What was once thought hopeless, and ended is not over!

For the last week in my spirit the God that I know as Jehovah, who is my redeemer, and the lover of my soul. and all His persons, has been saying to me that He is also the God of the comeback! He has heard the cry of His people and He has looked upon our hearts. Samson repented and was more glorious in his comeback than in his many exploits. Job’s captivity was turned when he prayed for his friends and he received double for all he had lost.

As we discussed in previous weeks, there are those who not only are going to see a sudden and complete shifting and turning of situations and circumstance simply because of His mercy and based on His word. There are also those who are going to be promoted, recompensed, reconciled in a way that utterly speaks to the magnificence and glory of God Himself! I am speaking to people who thought it was too late because of their age, to the resolute who had simply decided to get behind others and support them because your heart is to see the Kingdom progress no matter who is at bat, and to the faithful who had made up in their minds that God is God no matter what.

God is going to use you to further His Kingdom! He can trust you not to seek your own glory or to proclaim your own name, and He is about to establish in your life that He is indeed the God of the Comeback!
