How Many Days?

I am amazed at creation and even more so with the Creator! He delicately and intricately was able to create the world as we know it in 6 days. His creation was not only complete but also perpetual. Just think about it, He has not had to make updates or come out with new editions or better and more current models to keep up with changing times and demands. In the beginning when He finished the earth it was absolutely done and even the most brilliant minds of our time and are left making attempts to uncover it's mystery.

Then take Jesus, God in the flesh, who came to earth to redeem mankind. He was crucified, afflicted for our transgressions, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. But even as Jesus hung on the cross, He was not alone. He hung there between 2 thieves, in itself a testimony that the crucifixion alone could not save us. Otherwise, anyone who was crucified before or after could have made the claim that they paid the price for redemption. The fact that He was without sin and stood as a worthy sacrifice in our place and was not only crucified but rose again on the third day purchased our redemption. Remarkably the redemption of all of mankind happened in 3 days! This redemption was for all those who had come before Him, those who lived during His time, and all of us who have come since then and will ever be! Jesus clearly stating from the cross that “It is finished”. Once again God’s work did not require updates, or new downloads, or new models or extensions to the original plan. It was complete, thorough working that was and is set and has not changed.

As I was meditating this past week on God’s greatness during worship, and I saw the art of His creation and redemption magnified, He spoke to me. If the complexities of creation were completed in 6 days and the redemption of all mankind finished in 3 days. How many days do you think it will take for God to work out His plan in your life? Surely, it is not as intricate as creation itself, nor does it match the gravity of the redemption of all mankind which only took 3 days. So how many days do you expect it would take Him to turn it around, or to cause a breakthrough, or make things change? How many days to take you from where you are to the place where He purposed you? God is indeed great. I pray that as you lift up your eyes to see Him right now, your faith is elevated to another level of expectation! Set your expectation for the expedited, immediate, sudden, and complete work of God!
